Hi all,

YardBirdRace news

DANZENBAKER blazing at two over the existing mark in Residential with 105 in CarkCo Battleground yard with a recent add being Anna's Hummingbird!

SULLIVANS are hot on his heels with 102 in Fircrest in R, one short of PierceCo record.

TUBBS hits 74 in his Working/Acreage yard in Redmond, a list that includes Brewer?s Sparrow, Northern Shrike & Green Heron.

Tubbs brand new entry in the race with his regular yard in G in SNOQUALMIE at 46 inc. Townsend Solitaire guarantees that town will not only have its own waterfall but also a brand new YardBirdRace record.

Entries ARE WELCOME at any time of year?for the most part, nobody?s lead in the YBR is safe until the deadline, midnight on December 31, 2007.

HEIN /BAZEWICK get their go-ahead bird a Yellow-rumped Warbler putting them in record territory for Anacortes R.

BILL & CHARLOTTE BYERS are insuring a new YBR record for RAVENNA R with 22 with including Orange-crowned Warbler & Downy Woodpecker. 22 is also the new mark to beat in BOTHELL with a KATHY VOLZ entry that includes Purple Finch & Pileated Woodpecker.

SCOTT HOSKIN was reported at a tie with the record in Ballard last time. Forget that! Hoskin continues to heap species on in Ballard with Black Swift, Band-tailed Pigeon & migrating & vocalizing, migrating Swainson?s Thrush some recent additions putting him at 56, 5 over the previous Ballard record and possibly into second place, at least for now, in Seattle R.

Entering will directly and materially help bird conservation and/or the sport of birding. Last year over $1600 was donated to the American Bird Conservancy, the ABC's Save the Cerulean Warbler Campaign and BirdLife International. Many subscriptions to the superb WASHINGTON BIRDER quarterly were won, and in YardBirdRacing, due to the anomalies of this otherwise difficult sport, and to discourage the corrupting influence of the gaming industry EVERYBODY WINS!

Thanks all!

And here in the yard, BUTYL CREEK was down temporarily today because I hadn?t noticed the Racoons had done some work on it last night, but it still pulled in Western Tanagers, a Willow Flycatcher, a Brown Creeper which is a life-yard bird for us, many Goldfinch, both Hummers and of course Robins and B-c Chickadees and two Song Sparrows here on residential Beacon Hill.
