Hello Tweeters,

About a year ago, I decided to go with a digital SLR for bird, wildlife
and all-around photography. I went with a Nikon D70s (the D80 was
released about a month or two later - aargh!) and Nikkor 80-200 lens with
a 2x teleconverter (we actually had this lens from a previous
photographic life). I am very happy with this decision. As with most
birders, I often carry a scope in the field and recently I had a bit of
an epiphany that I don't necessarily need to be just a digital
SLR photographer but can bring along a point and shoot for digiscoping
as well (duh!). In fact, while there are several photographs of birds
hanging on my home office wall, the only one that I actually took was a
digiscoped shot of a Harpy Eagle in Brazil.

So, a long way to go but now my question...I own a 80mm Swarovski ATS
scope with a 20-60x eyepiece. What are the recommended choices for a small
point-and shoot camera that would work well with this scope and would
afford the least amount of vignetting? I would like to avoid cameras that
have long shutter lags and that are less than 7 megapixels. I am not sure I
want to monkey around with adapters but would rather just hold the camera up
to the eyepiece and shoot when a bird presented itself in my scope but was
too far away for my SLR. If there is an adapter out there which is is
not too unwieldy, allowing the camera and adapter to be quickly attached
and detached, then I would consider this. Thus, any and all
recommendations on adapters would be greatly appreciated as well.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers and Good Birding,
