The 5 Buff-breasted Sandpipers reported numerous times over the last week or so were seen today on Fir Island at 11:00 am. They were in the short cropped field on Maupin about 200 meters from where Maupin T's with Rawlins Road. If you go to the field that is full of cauliflower you've gone too far. Coming in from the south on Maupin this field will be on your right.
I stopped back at 1 and tried helping 3 woman from Bellingham to locate the birds without any luck. I ran into Rimmer DeVries, from Camano, at the Game Range at 2 and was able to find the birds for him. We were then joined by a local Stanwood birder (sorry forgot your name).
