Hi Josh,

It happens maybe a couple times a year, but is a good, rare bird sighting. Last fall there were a couple of birds that were mentioned off Discovery Park, and a friend saw them (me & another friend missed them) from the Vashon ferry the same day.

The bird you saw is probably the same bird that caught my eye (when I was stupidly without my binoculars) yesterday from the Edmonds-Kingson ferry about 9:30am. I couldn't confirm it, but had a strong feeling that it was a Parasitic Jaeger, so...take that for what you will.

Without bins, I did get my first-of-year Heermann's Gulls yesterday though, from the same ferry run. That was a nice treat.
