Subject: [Tweeters] Pileated and a very odd companion

I have a beautiful male Pileated that regularly works the huge half dead
cedar at the bottom of my drive. Today I noticed he flew in and was closely
followed by an entourage (well of 1) smaller woodpecker. I grabbed my
bino's and walked down to find the Pileated working on one of his long oval
holes and directly above him a LEWIS'S WOODPECKER hawking whatever insects
the Pileated was scaring off the tree. A new yard bird for sure for my new
yard half way between Fall City and Preston. I'll keep an eye out and post
if I see them again.
