Our Discovery Park birding group this AM, lacking an
expert birder as leader, was birding by consensus. We
saw 3 unusual birds for the Park on the dune (aka big
sand pile)in the north end of the south meadow near
the bluff, at the end of "bird alley". What with
consulting field guides and a show of hands, the group
think was horned larks. The birds insisted on staying
put despite dogs and gawkers, so maybe some one who
knows will see them and be able to annoint our
sighting.
