I was devastated to hear of the loss of Patrick. I was just on a field trip
at the WOS conference with Patrick & Ruth. It is hard to realize that he is
gone and it is a blow to the birding community. I have met them a number of
time on trips around the state and enjoyed their trip to the Waterville
plataeu in Feb. I was just talking about their trip in 2008 and found out
they were going to have a three day trip over the President's weekend. I
made a note of that so I could be sure of being able to go on the trip.
Patrick was an amazing birding in seeing and hearing the birds and rapidly
IDing them. He was able to find the rareties among a group of birds. We are
all going to miss his expertise.
