I was stunned and devastated to read of Patrick's passing and
immediately began crying, even though I had never met him in person.
But I have followed his and Ruth's birding posts for several years
and felt a connection through their passionate birding experiences
and thoughtful attention to detail, not to mention their wonderful
photography. My husband, Bill Morris, recalls the Sullivans searching
for the redwing in the Olympia area, because he was there for two
days in a row. They were so giving of their time to help all the
birders locate that rarity.

What has continued to strike me is the outpouring of love and grief
from so many in the Tweets community and I consider myself to be
lucky to be a part of a community of folks who are so very caring
toward each other.

My heart breaks for Ruth.
