Tweets,

I've looked back through my library of _American Birds_ and learned that Patrick and Ruth first participated in the Tacoma and Kent-Auburn Christmas Bird Counts held in the winter of 1986-1987, and no doubt in those and many others every year since. Patrick and I birded the old Kent ponds area on the Kent-Auburn count sometime in the 1990s and I recall it was a bit humbling as he heard two chips to my one as we sorted through the many sparrows lurking in the blackberry thickets.

If anyone can contribute additional details of Patrick's birding activities since they arrived on the scene that would be appreciated. The first state records of Temminck's Stint and Alder Flycatcher come readily to mind, but I'm sure there are others. They rediscovered the first Falcated Teal up on the Samish Flats after most of us had given it up as a lost cause following the initial sightings, then made sure we all got to see it.
