Western Scrub Jay seems to be the "hot" bird these days. ;) I saw one today
in Bellevue near the intersection of NE 8th and 131st.

Hi All,



A casual birder who works at my company has several feeders in his backyard
on Union Hill in Redmond. They (he and his wife, who is also interested in
birds) had a fairly lengthy visit yesterday (Thursday) from a WESTERN SCRUB
JAY - he described an adult bird perfectly and they confirmed it with their
field guide while observing it. They frequently have Steller's Jays in the
backyard, so between their knowledge of that species and his detailed
description of yesterday's bird, I was convinced of the sighting. Their
increasing presence in Western WA apparently continues...
