Hi Tweets,

For three mornings now I have been alerted to a large flock of robins in a small wooded area next to our yard. They are very loud and seems to be about 25 to 50 birds strong. There has been a handful of starlings, woodpeckers, jays and today I saw a flycatcher. These birds are calling, and chasing each other all over the fir, maple and blackberries. They seem to be foraging in the trees along with the chasing. Lots of robins are eating the black berries. I thought until today that these were migrating birds passing through, maybe taking a break, but they are so busy, I am wondering if this area is more like a staging area and they are gathering in preparation to leave. So my question is would the birds be this frantic if they were migrating all night? Seems like alot of energy they were using, when conserving energy would be a better bet. After a few hours they just disappear and all is quiet till the next morning.
