Sept. 29 Anne Kahle and I birded Ridgefield NWR and Vancouver Lake north to
Post Office Lake all morning.

Highlites at Ridgefield NWR are:
many Sandhill Cranes
1 American Bittern
12 Great Egrets
1 Least Sandpiper
100+ Long-billed Dowitchers
several Lincoln's Sparrows

Highlites of Lower River Road past Vancouver Lake and driving to the end and
walking on the blocked off part to Post Office Lake include:
2 Redheads
5 single Turkey Vultures over a two hour period flying over the Columbia
River
4 Common Mergansers
2 ad. Bald Eagles
1 Pileated Woodpeckers
many Violet-green and Barn Swallows
10 American Pipits
1 Fox Sparrow
