Hello All
I birded just a little bit on the Foothills Trail this morning. It was
blustery and chilly, but the birds were very active. Highlights included 1
Hammond's Flycatcher, 40 American Pipits, 1 Merlin, and 172 Turkey Vultures.
The Turkey Vultures were all moving down Prairie Ridge from north to south
between 10:15 and 11:15am. Many of them landed in the cottonwoods along
South Prairie Creek, and may have gone down to feed on salmon carcasses,
before all picking up again and continuing south.
Cheers,
Charlie Wright
