Hello Tweeters,

We found a male three-toed woodpecker on the Thunder
Knob Trail out of the north Colonial Creek Campground
on Hwy. 20 in the N. Cascades Nat'l Recreation Area.
It was about 200 steps up the trail past the first set
of double benches, and 800 steps before the almost dry
pond. It came to a tree less than15 feet from us, and
it was feeding only 6-8' off the ground, so we got a
very good long look at him.

Thanks to Daoud Miller for posting about his find of
three-toeds on this trail. We got the lifer we have
sought for several years.

Austin, Texas
