This thread reminds me of a story my late aunt told me. She and some friends were spending a weekend birding Malheur in eastern Oregon. She got up early one morning and went across the road to where there was a pond. She was surprised to find a couple of people skinny dipping in the water.

She strolled back into camp and told the birders that she had just seen a couple of Double Breasted Dippers. She then had a good laugh as the whole group went running across the road with binoculars at the ready.
