this month's episode: a few years ago, a peregrine falcon made its home at
juanita bay park, somehow confusing a 25-foot-tall cottonwood(?) for the
30th floor of the seattle wamu building or the top of the ship canal bridge,
i guess... anyway, s/he was there from early september until sometime just
before xmas and, for that short period of time LOVED that tree...

on the first day, s/he perched within 15-20 feet of numerous onlookers on
the end of the western boardwalk, and did so for the better part of 2.5
hours. this photo is just one of numerous s/he allowed...

to the best of my knowledge, s/he has not returned and, worse, the trees on
that point are no longer...
