Hi, Maria.

Members of the finch family, including Pine Siskins, practice
courtship feeding, in which the male feeds something to the female.
This can be quite persistent early in the breeding cycle. I wonder if
that's perhaps what you saw?

Hi Tweeters:

I thought I had a couple of sick pine siskins hanging around but
realized they were fledglings because I saw them being fed by
adults. Seems so early, especially when I am at the same time seeing
pine siskins collecting dog fur and twigs from my front yard.
