I think I agree with Richard here, but also take this opportunity to point
out that one reason they want to build there is the lack of light pollution.
I'm not sure how much difference this makes to birds (I seem to remember
reading something about it somewhere), but recent trips to Tuscon and
Phoenix reminded me of how little night light we really need and relatively
easy it is to use less.
