Hi Tweeters,

Tweeters,

I've been doing most of my Washington State birding at my home (Battle
Ground, Clark County, WA) this year (other than the Othello Crane
Festival last weekend and several trips to Ridgefield NWR). This
morning, I had my first two Brown-headed Cowbirds at the feeder. This
beat last year's arrival date by 4 days. Thankfully, they didn't stay
long and I haven't seen them since. A Slate-colored type Dark-eyed
Junco showed up at the feeder today and has been around all day. My
Evening Grosbeak flock has grown from 4-7 per day in the last ten days
to 13 today. A pair of Purple Finches returned today after an absence
of several days. A big surprise today was a single (!!) Bushtit. An
Osprey flew over on Friday and, to date, I've had 11 Bald Eagle
sightings this year. I think there may be a pair breeding somewhere
near Battle Ground. My first Turkey Vulture flew over on March 6 and
I'm up to 8 sightings now including 4 different birds on March 17.
Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warblers have been plucking suet for the past
week and yesterday I had a beautiful Audubon's Warbler.

Ready for warblers...........
