This evening there were 3600 at Corfu, most of which came from the roost to
the SE along lower Crab Creek Road between 5 and 6 pm (including one with a
radio transmitter). The flyoff was spectacular between 7:30 and 8 pm.
There are also cranes roosting in Marsh Unit 1 of Columbia NWR that are
visible from the upper (SE) parking lot without entering the closed area. I
didn't count them but probably 600-800. Monday there were still at least
200 cranes using the McKinney Road corn fields south of Bench Road, and
although not close to either road they leave and return to a roost flying
fairly low over SR 26.
