Hi Ian and All,

I did have to manipulate the American Pipit photo's quite a bit to make them usable. The original photo's were pretty washed out. I was so excited to see this unusual bird that I didn't adjust my camera properly. So I would wager the leg coloring is due to the photo processing. It did display the mannerism's described Audubon's Western Field Guide of an American Pipit, continuous tail bobbing, walking instead of hopping. It was a great day.

Subject: Leg color of Doug's American Pipit

HI ALL:
I was looking at the photo of Doug's Discovery Park American Pipit and
noticed it had pale reddish (on my monitor anyway) legs. I don't recall
the North American subspecies of American Pipit having pale colored
legs. Was it just an artifact of the lighting?
