"By far the best waterbird habitat in Monterey County
is the Moss Landing/Elkhorn Slough vicinity; indeed,
this tidal slough and adjacent freshwater ponds
combine for some of the best birding in all of North
America. It has been recognized as an Important Bird
Area (IBA) of international significance."

The quote above is taken from a website on Elkhorn
Slough (link available on my blog).

Included are my photos from last week and some from
2007. I have a pretty good (if I must say so myself)
comparison of the Western and Clark's Grebes. I'm
afraid the weather didn't cooperate this time, but my
wife and I still enjoyed the hike.
