My wife and I spent Sunday, 4/13, checking the Conboy Lake NWR
area of Klickitat County in hopes of relocating the previously reported
Great Gray Owl. We had no luck in finding the bird but did see several
pair of CINNAMON TEAL, 3 SANDHILL CRANES, 1 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE, a flock
of about 30 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and 3 RED CROSSBILLS. We drove back
home by going down the Klickitat River, where we stopped and scanned the
sandbar at the mouth of the river. Susan spotted a flock of long legged
shorebirds that turned out to be 12 BLACK-NECKED STILTS.
