I spent an absolutely beautiful Sunday birding the Yakama Indian Reservation
with good results. I found an EURASIAN WIGEON on a flooded field 9/10th of a
mile West of Old Goldendale Rd. on Pumphouse Rd. It was in with a large
flock (over 100) AMERICAN WIGEON. I also had a NORTHERN SHRIKE along
Pumphouse Rd. There were 18 GREATER YELLOWLEGS in the flooded field where
Lateral ?C? Road crosses Toppenish Creek.



At the Toppenish Wildlife Refuge I had my first BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD,
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD and winnowing WILSON?S SNIPE of the year. At the
observation deck two LINCOLN?S SPARROWS moved furtively through the
greasewood.



BLACK-NECKED STILTS were everywhere, my total count for the day was 61 BNST!
