Hello all,
Was just waiting for something/anything different to show up in our yard -
and this morning a little Brewer's Sparrow was feeding with the
White-crowned's in the garden.
Other arrivals in Walla Walla County:
Vaux's Swifts - 4-11
Greater Yellowlegs - 1 on Detour - 4-12
Rufous Hummingbird - 1 at Shoemakes yesterday and one at my honeysuckle
right now - a brilliant male!
Calliope Hummingbird - 1 at Shoemakes this morning - I am waiting!
We did our weekly walk at Bennington Lake this morning in 38 degrees with a
15 mph wind - had to wear those longjohns again!!! The Tree Swallows have
taken at least one box - and the Rough-winged Swallows are back in the
canal. There were baby Bewick's Wrens begging and three Osprey. Several
Yellow-rumped Warblers in breeding plumage were beautiful in the new little
leaves.
The snow is waaay down low - the mountains are getting it again.
Waiting for warmer weather in Walla Walla, MerryLynn
