Hi Tweeters,
Since it wasn't pouring last night I stopped at Boeing
Ponds on the way home and saw a Say's Phoebe there on
the east side of the area in a field. There was an
incredible insect hatch out like I have witnessed
there in the past and the swallows were thick. It was
fun to stand among the flying bugs with swallows
whizzing by. Violet-green mostly, Barn and Tree
Swallows. I was surprised not to see Cliff in there.
The Washington Ornithological Society website has a
link to a map of the area, I would recommend pressing
the informational link for the best map. The first
map marks the Boeing Ponds area as lying west of the
Green River (and Frager Rd), Boeing ponds is actually
east (but nearby) and mapped very nicely in the
informational link.
