Sorry

I was looking at the wrong Fox Sparrow.

Yonder mystery sparrow is probably not well-enough seen in the photos for ID.
The facial pattern looks distinctly underwhelming for iliaca or zaboria Red
Fox. The back and crown seem, seem is the key here, to have too much brown for
a SC Fox Sparrow. I think altivagans is likely, but this winter I've seen
several Fox Sparrows well that have defied categorization.

Red and Sooty Fox Sparrows do hybridize in s. coastal AK just to make life
even more interesting.
