What an excitingly odd site in Port Angeles this afternoon! Barn swallows were zipping through the whiteout snow, the backdrop a thicket of flowering red currant. It was a bit surreal.

Also--I have seen on two occasions what appears to be a song sparrow wearing bright plumage typical of eastern birds. It hangs out by the wooden dock a few hundred feet west of the hobby shop on Railroad St. I saw it on March 19th and today.
