Hi Tweeters,

On April 6th of last year, I was amazed to see three American Bitterns from
the back deck of my house in Battle Ground, Clark County. Two circled a
nearby pond and the third landed in the pond. I figured that was very lucky
and I'd never see another one from the house again.......

Today, I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked out in the middle of the
thunder snow-storm at about 5:45pm and saw an American Bittern flying by and
low and heading to my neighborhood pond! I immediately donned coat and bins
and walked to the pond (and for the fun of walking in an April snow).
Unfortunately, the Bittern saw me before I saw it and flew off from the
northwest corner of the pond heading north. This place constantly amazes
me!

The snow also deposited an Orange-crowned Warbler in the yard. I enjoyed
watching a male Rufous Hummingbird at the feeder in the snow (or hail or
whatever it was).

Cheers.
