Tweeters -

Today around 4:30 pm, I wandered back down to our private beach to see what I could see. Lo' and behold, there were the two female Mountain Bluebirds flitting along all up and down the beach, so I followed them along to see what they did for about 20-30 minutes.

They seemed to hop-scotch along from log, to branch, to log - taking turns as to who went first, highest, closer to the beach etc. After a bit they flew off towards the jetty and the marina, where I thought they'd continue off towards downtown Des Moines. I then watched a lone Spotted Sandpiper bobbing along down the creek towards the tideline, on it's journey around the jetty.

As I went back up the beach, I was greeted by a Male Common Loon making it's way south towards Saltwater State Park. As I turned to go back up towards my place, there was one of the two Mountain Bluebirds back by our walkover bridge, as if to say "Good seeing you! Have a great night!" and then flew off.

I have posted more pix on my Flickr page. You can either follow the link to the set, or chose the set titled "Mountain Bluebirds" when you get to the main page.
