We too had a singing Hermit Thrush at the yard's edge this weekend, and just about nothing else, as it seems the extraordinarily below-ave temperatures pretty much put spring singing and migrant movement on hold. One wonders what came of the Empids that passed through last weekend; perhaps they went the way of many of the frog egg masses, which have died, surely owing to the cold.

This is the normal peak time for Hermit Thrush passage through the wWA lowlands. Damp, cool, gloomy, and misty weather seems to almost encourage singing sometimes, as with Varied Thrush.
