It is that time of year again. The great flock of widgeons who have made Green Lake their home since last November have dwindled in number to about eleven, as of 0600 this morning. They seem to come around Halloween and leave about the time to pay income taxes.

On another note, I have seen more Gadwalls hanging around the lake this season. No Brewer's Blackbirds yet.
