Subject: [Tweeters] NESTING BOX INTRIGUE

I have a hanging nesting box and at first I thought (a couple of weeks or so ago) House Sparrows were taking nesting materials into it but then I saw Black Capped Chickadees going in. For a while I could not decide who was going to be living there this year and then it seemed the Sparrows had taken charge.
This morning I have watched as two Chickadees have been removing nesting materials, flying to a bush in a neighbors garden, dropping the materials, then coming back for more and doing the same thing repeatedly.
I can come up with all kinds of scenarios as to what is going on here but first, has anyone witness this kind of behavior? I haven't seen the Sparrows this morning so maybe they just vacated the premises for a prefered location or is this a hostile take over?
