Friday afternoon, about 4pm at Seward Park, there were eleven (for
sure, and maybe more, it was hard to determine since they were
circling) bald eagles flying above the upper meadow, near the tree
with the nest. There were some juveniles, and many with white heads.
Lots of chirping, and action! It was quite a show and many people
playing with their dogs stopped to watch. A pair landed in a nearby
tree for a break and ? They all must have been enjoying the sunny
afternoon after too many cold, cloudy days, as were we. Having driven
up Hwy. 20 along the Skagit for the festival, this was a close-in,
city sighting with more in one place than we had ever seen before today.
