It's been a fun week for birds here. Fully-electric goldfinches have been
appearing often enough that even I, the last to arrive home, have seen
multiples, on feeders and dashing through the yard. Golden-crowned sparrows also
came to my attention, a species I'm not sure I could have say with certainty
that I had observed in yard before.

And then there was the flock of 30+ that got my attention a couple days ago,
alighting in birch tree beyond good observation range. With 12X, there was
a hint of crests, faintly yellow-green velvet chests, and black chin,
bringing to mind cedar waxwings. Tonight I was able to confirm that ID, with not so
many, but probably a dozen or more seemingly making hay with a huge
white-flowering tree (I'd guess overgrown decorative cherry) in yard below us.
