Hello all,
We birded the west end of Walla Walla county today - and found a few year
birds but still very slow migration here.

WWRiver delta: lots of mud
American Avocet - 17
Black-necked Stilt - 3
Dunlin - 200+ with many in breeding plumage
Least Sandpiper - 13
and that was it for shorebirds! Where are our yellowlegs, dowitchers, etc?
Vesper Sparrow - 1 - year bird
lots of Caspian Terns but no Forster's

Tyson ponds - 1 avocet.

Two Rivers HMU:
Bonaparte's Gull - 4
Black-necked Stilt - 15
Downy Woodpecker - the gray westside bird is still there

Northshore drive millet pond: almost dry already
House Wren - 2 singing

Lambkin road - 3 Long-billed Curlews
Western Kingbird - 1 here, 2 near Touchet
Eurasian Collared Dove - 2 in Touchet

Swainson's Hawks - 30+ between Touchet and Walla Walla - nice to see so many

--still snow on the hills south of Touchet -
Later, ML
