Subject: [Tweeters] trumpeter swan

Saturday I retrieved a badly injured juvenile trumpeter swan off the Monroe
Honor Farm pond. Thank you to those who reported it.
I find it interesting that we have several trumpeters hanging around very
late in the upper Snohomish/lower Snoqualmie valley areas each year. Some
of them make it out, others like the one on April 12 at the Stillwater Unit
did not.
If you see a swan, any species, please remember to call me. We are
still tracking the lead shot ingestion poisoning of swans as we are finding
it in this area.

Also saw red-winged blackbird, yellowlegs (flying), Canada geese, mallards,
coot, red-tailed hawk, and more at the pond on Saturday. This is a
wonderful wetland and the plans for site appear to let it be natural.
