In the Nature Conservancy wetland at the corner of Green Road and Minkler Road there are a number of possibiities.? All viewings were from Green Road in the area looking directly toward the beaver dam.
At about 5 PM?Sat 4/26?Josh Parrott, Gary Bletsch and I?saw a sora and heard at least 3 calling.? There were two Wilson's Snipes.? One of them landed on the beaver dam and stayed there for several minutes.? Two pairs of cinnamon teals were also in the area.? And, of course many red-winged blackbirds and swallows (violet greens, tree, and cliff) feast there.
At 6 PM on Sun 4/27 there were 4 yellow-headed blackbirds that flew from one area to another.? They spent time on the beaver dam and in the trees at the south end on the wetland.? I once again heard several sora but did not see them this day.? The cinnamon teals were here once again.
Happy birding.
