Hi Tweets,

I'll chime in on the great birding day at Nisqually NWR on Sunday. A pair
of Black-necked Stilts were certainly a very pleasant surprise. No new
birds to add to any of the earlier posts. (Although we looked hard for BW
Teal.)

Since Heather and I were seeing so many Yellow-rumped Warblers of the
Myrtle's race, we conducted are own scientific (somewhat) survey. We did
our best to look at every YR Warbler on the dike next to McAlister Creek
from the cross dike up to the turn-off for the blind. The advantage of
this transect was that we could see most of the birds (except a few that
hovered on the lower outside trees) and be pretty sure that we weren't
double counting birds.

While the Myrtle's started off with a huge lead, the final tally was 50
birds with:

20 Myrtle's
30 Audubon's

It was a good day to be out,
