Approx. 2 weeks ago, I witnessed an adult Song Sparrow feeding a big, fat Cowbird chick the millet that?I spread out for the ground feeders.? This?"baby" was easily twice the size of the adult?and relentless in it's constant begging.? I have seen this a few times over the years, but always with Junco surrogates.
