Hello All
Today I decided to bird from South Bend to Westport, starting in the south
and working my way up the coast. Shorebird numbers are still pretty low, but
diversity is really picking up with 24 species seen today. Highlight by far
was a HUDSONIAN GODWIT at Tokeland Marina, briefly in with the godwit flock
on the beach. The observation was far too short: I spotted the bird, snapped
a couple of quick photos, and after only about 1 minute the bird flew by
itself out onto the mudflats of the bay, and was soon lost. It still may
show back up at Tokeland during a high tide so it may be worth a look.
