Subject: [Tweeters] No Ruff, Yakima Delta 8/3

I went back to the delta today in hopes that the Ruff was still present. If
it was out there it was hiding (which is a possibility). The water seemed a
little higher at first but it seemed to becoming down. Bob was also at the
delta and Jane was seen in her kayak.

I still found a lone Black-necked Stilt. This bird was not in view most of
the time so maybe the Ruff was well hidden too. There were 3 or 4 Lesser
Yellowlegs, approximately 20 peeps, about 50 Killdeer, 4 Spotted Sandpipers,
and 20 Long-billed Dowitchers.

Also present was a Red-breasted Nuthatch. This wouldn't be a surprise in
some neighborhoods here but they are not often along the delta. We watched
a Great Blue Heron gulp down a fish. There were a few Great Egrets and
Black-crowned Night-Herons.
