Tweets - this afternoon, right in the heat of the day, I went up to the
Stanwood Sewage Treatment Plant, and I was NOT disappointed.

There were only about 20 individual shorebirds, but here's the breakdown:

8-10 Killdeer
2 Long-billed Dowitcher
2 Western Sandpiper
1 Least Sandpiper
1 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER
2 PECTORAL SANDPIPER
1 Spotted Sandpiper
3 WILSON'S PHALAROPE

All but the phalarope were in the middle holding pond which is dry. So they
were all in a 50 yard square. It was great to be able to compare Least
Sandpiper vs. Pectoral Sandpiper, and Western Sandpiper vs. Semipalmated
Sandpiper.

The Wilson's Phalarope were towards the west end of the big pond, mixed in
with the ducks.

As for ducks, Mallard, Northern Shoveler, Gadwall (bazillions, with babies),
Ruddy Duck (bazillions), BLUE-WINGED TEAL, about 5 RING-NECKED DUCK (I
think - some might have been Scaup), and 1 male REDHEAD.
