Hello All
This morning I got in some birding in calm, slightly hazy conditions from
Hoquiam to Ocean Shores. The two major highlights were a very fresh juvenile
Franklin's Gull at the Hoquiam STP and an Elegant Tern off the Ocean Shores
jetty. Shorebird numbers remain pretty low in general, with a couple
exceptions.

HOQUIAM STP (0730-0830):
Gadwall 45 mostly young of the year
Greater Scaup 15
Lesser Scaup 2
Ruddy Duck 1
Horned Grebe 2 molting ads.
Semipalmated Plover 5
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER 1 juv
Western Sandpiper 280 (20ad., 260 juv)
Least Sandpiper 80 all juv.
Red-necked Phalarope 4 juvs.
FRANKLIN'S GULL 1 both on beach and in STP; digiscoped photos.
