Subject: [Tweeters] Manx Shearwater near Ruby Beach

Greetings Tweeters,
On Tuesday Morning (8/5) I was on my way to Forks for the week and stopped briefly to scan offshore. Among the many distant regulars, there was a Manx "type" Shearwater not far beyond the breakers. I say Manx type because the bird was not seen closely enough to rule out it's rarer cousins, but surely it was a Manx.
The bird was seen moving between feeding concentrations of birds from the unnamed pull-in about 1.9 miles south of Ruby Beach, along the outer coast in Jefferson County. Interesting in light of some of the recent speculation about potential beeding in WA. Destruction Island is immediately offshore from this point.
Good luck and good birding
