Hi All,

I took a midmorning hike through Seattle's Discovery Park. I stopped at the
large fireweed patch in the south meadow and noted about 3 Anna's and 2
Rufous Hummingbirds that were still using the area. There are very few
fireweed blossoms left though, so I imagine that the activity in the area
will subside before the end of the week. One little Anna's cooperated quite
well for the camera. I posted three photos of her in my new photos gallery
here: http://www.goatislandimages.com/photogalleries.htm

There was an eagle perched in a madrona tree a little ways down the south
beach trail. The view of the bird was partially obstructed by branches, but
I did get a couple decent shots of her giving me a pretty intense look.
These photos can also be found in my new photos gallery.
