Do flickers molt on their heads or is this a sick bird?

I had a flicker this morning nearly all feathers out of head and very short tail feathers.

I am happy to report that we had a second brood of nuthatches in the condo snag. Do nuthatches return to same spot annually?

Any news on the Anna's at Northgate at Robert Pisanos? Never heard about anything past picture of eggs in nest.
