Our yard, which is literally teeming with birds has become suddenly quiet.
No swallows over head, no juncos (which are usually non stop to the
fountain, no towhees, no robins. Any ideas?



We live on acreage with lots of cover, food and water.



Yesterday we had Coopers Hawk fighting with a crow and after the crow gave
up the hawk made an attempt to get full grown rabbit and though he missed,
it would have been a mismatch. It occurred to me that his presence might
explain the birds going to ground but that was yesterday and by this evening
still no birds.
