Last weekend and again today, I have been out of the area during the week, I have seen sanderlings around Ridgefield NWR. Today I found several Baird's sandpipers. Although these birds are in a closed area of the refuge it is an indication of what is around the area. Last week there were sanderlings at the flushing channel on Vancouver Lake and I bet Baird's are there now.
