This is a rather late turkey vulture report for
July (a new printer with no back-up ink
cartridge). Nesting turkey vultures should be
done with their primary family duties. I?ve had a
couple reports of HY birds (dark grey/black
heads) so they are out and around. Following is
the report of turkey vultures seen in Oregon,
Washington, and British Columbia during July 2008.

Reservoir, east of Eugene; 1 at Venata
04 ? 1 in Chelan County; 2 at the Leavenworth NFH; 9 near the Roslyn exit
05 ? 1 moving south near Discovery Bay; 1 w/no
site entered; 1 over Sequim; 1 near Wenatchee
06 ? In Oregon: 3 east of Halsey, 2 in the
southeast Shedd area, 3 in northeast Shedd area,
2 south of Wilsonville, 2 east of Brooks, 1 near
Hubbard, 2 north of Hubbard, 5 west of Lebanon

08 ? 1 near the Snoqualmie River; 1 over Central
Park landfill; 3 near the water in Anacortes
09 ? 1 north of Ocean Shores; 3 over Elma fairgrounds; 4 near Montesano

Thanks for all the sightings. It won?t be long
until migration time next month so keep looking.
There were some large flocks reported last
September, and they are always an interesting sight.
